Diagnostic Assessment

Diagnostic assessments are available at EduCare in the areas of reading, writing, and math. All EduCare assessments feature nationally normed, standardized instruments and include computer-generated summary reports for parents/guardians.

Reading/Writing Assessments

Assessments in reading include sub-test areas of reading comprehension, reading fluency, reading rate, general vocabulary, sight-word vocabulary, and decoding (phonics). Assessments in writing include sub-test areas of writing organization, writing fluency, mechanics, and spelling.

Math Assessments

Assessments in the area of math include the sub-test areas of numeration, rational numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurement, time and money, estimation, interpreting data, problem solving, statistics, algebra, and geometry.

Assessments are normally scheduled after school or on Saturday mornings. Reading and writing assessments are scheduled over a two-hour block of time. Math assessments are scheduled over an hour and a half block of time. Assessment results are provided to parents in a private conference ten minutes after the assessment is completed.
